Rupin and Supin Trek: The Hidden Gem of Uttarakhand

Rupin and Supin Trek is one of the least explored treks in Uttarakhand, making it ideal for beginners seeking solitude amidst nature’s raw beauty. Nestled in the north-western corner of Uttarakhand, this trek offers mesmerizing scenic views, including majestic peaks, lush valleys, and snow-covered mountains.

Trek Alongside the Rupin and Supin Rivers

While walking along the Rupin River, the trail winds through dense pine forests and across high ridges. These routes share similarities with other popular treks like Kedarkantha and Har Ki Dun, but the tranquility and unspoiled charm of Rupin-Supin make it a truly unique experience.

Two Valleys, One Adventure

Expect to be surprised at every turn. The trek allows you to explore two distinct valleys in a single journey, crossing scenic high ridges that unveil breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, including the Kinnaur Kailash Range.

Discover Hidden Villages and Garhwali Culture

Along the trail, you’ll pass through lush meadows, charming hamlets, exotic fields, and rushing rivers—all in one trek. Wildlife enthusiasts can spot various Himalayan birds and animals, while cultural explorers will enjoy the local traditions.

A highlight is Bitari Village, dramatically perched on the edge of a mountain cliff, offering unparalleled panoramic views. Here, you’ll find the multi-storeyed Bitari Temple, a beautiful glimpse into Garhwali culture.

Bhitri Village – First Stop on the Rupin-Supin Trail

At an elevation of 1,554 meters, Bhitri is a quaint mountain village known for its wooden homes on stilts, a vibrant temple, and even a lively cricket community. Watch the local children play cricket with passion, showcasing their love for the game as they mimic their idols.
