Itinerary
Day 1: Pickup from Dehradun – Drive to Sankri (Base Camp)
- Distance: 190 km (8–9 hours drive)
- Mode: By shared taxi
- Altitude: 1,920 meters
- Stay: Hotel stay on sharing basis
Start your journey early morning from Dehradun Railway Station between 6:00–7:00 am. The scenic drive passes through Mussoorie, Kempty Falls, and remote villages like Purola, offering stunning views of valleys, forests, and rivers. Reach Sankri by evening, check into the hotel, relax, and enjoy the peaceful mountain surroundings. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Trek from Sankri to Juda Ka Talab
- Distance: 5 km (4–5 hours trek)
- Mode: On foot
- Altitude: 2,700 meters
- Stay: Tents on sharing basis
Wake up to a refreshing mountain morning. After breakfast, begin your trek through dense pine and oak forests. The trail offers beautiful glimpses of snow-covered peaks. Reach Juda Ka Talab, a calm high-altitude lake, perfect for camping. Enjoy hot meals and a peaceful night under the stars.
Day 3: Trek from Juda Ka Talab to Kedarkantha Base Camp
- Distance: 3 km (2–3 hours trek)
- Mode: On foot
- Altitude: 3,200 meters
- Stay: Tents on sharing basis
Begin your ascent through meadows and forest trails. You’ll get clearer views of Kedarkantha Peak and surrounding snow-clad mountains. Reach base camp, a beautiful open meadow with panoramic views. Rest well, as the next day’s summit trek starts early.
Day 4: Summit Kedarkantha Peak – Descend to Hargaon Thach
- Distance: 11 km (6–7 hours trek)
- Mode: On foot
- Altitude: Summit – 3,800 meters | Hargaon Thach – 2,645 meters
- Stay: Tents on sharing basis
Start trekking by 3:30 am to catch the breathtaking sunrise from the summit. The 360° view from the top includes peaks like Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, and Kalanag. After spending time at the summit, descend to Hargaon campsite for a relaxed night in tents.
Day 5: Trek Back to Sankri
- Distance: 6 km (3–4 hours trek)
